An exhaustive resource for alternative medicine in general and chiropractic in particular: refers to numerous other websites. Contains some excellent commentary on the lack of scientific evidence (not to mention plausibility) underlying chiropractic practices. www.neck911usa.com. Website for victims injured due to chiropractic manipulation. Chiropractic: National Association for Chiropractic Medicine, http://www.chiromed.org. Association of chiropractors who reject the subluxation. American Chiropractic Association, www.amerchiro.org.; www.acatoday.org. Largest US chiropractic association; mainly represents the "mixer" faction of chiropractic. International Chiropractic Association, www.chiropractic.org. Represents the "straight" chiropractors. International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. www.icpa4kids.org. Promotes chiropractic for children and pregnant women. www.chiro.org. General reference website for chiropractors. International Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association, www.pacificchiro.org. Organization of upper cervical chiropractors. National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association, www.nucca.org. Organization of upper cervical chiropractors. Council on Chiropractic Practice Clinical Practice Guidelines, Vertebral Subluxation in Chiropractic Practice, www.ccp-guidelines.org. Obviously very pro-chiropractic and supportive of the view that the chiropractic subluxation exists. The 2003 update of the 1998 Guidelines notes that the CCP Guidelines were "accepted for inclusion within the National Guideline Clearinghouse [NGC]" which is sponsored by the U.S. Agency for Health Care Research & Quality. 2003 Update & Revision, at 10-11. However, the NGC website states that it "does not develop, produce, approve, or endorse the guidelines represented on this site." www.guideline.gov. This website reveals the deep intraprofessional conflicts in chiropractic regarding the subluxation. NCCAM operates under the auspices of the National Institutes of Health. While it is a useful resource for studies of various CAM practices, it describes these practices in uncritical terms and makes no reference to their implausibility under generally accepted scientific principles.Next Page
